We have been in Greece for exactly two weeks now but it’s starting to feel more like home. Work is going well, the internet is good enough on download (tv / online video) although upload speeds are truly tragic, as long as we are not uploading video or too much audio, we can cope.
I’m no longer on such high insect alert in the bedroom although I’m still not sleeping very well due to having to use a nightlight as it’s so freaking tomblike dark at night.
In the total dark, my imagination runs riot but I woke myself up shouting from a claustrophobic dream the other night, so while I know it’s better for you to sleep in the dark, I just can’t do it yet.
There are little beetle type bugs and tiny moths about but I’m not so bothered about them and the nighttime Mani Worms ( a type of millipede http://www.zorbas.de/scripts/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=7556 ) march about in the corners most nights (where do they come from and where do they go?) but there’s no longer many mossies so that helps. As long as I make sure no house fly gets in, I’m much more relaxed.
I’m also not feeling safe enough here yet to open a window – everyone sleeps on the ground floor in Greece – so I’m missing the constant fresh air at night I enjoyed in Shoreham. It doesn’t help that we are watching The Fall in the evenings – daft I know and shooting ourselves in the foot rather!
During the day, we have had our share of mini-adventures (which we are writing / podcasting from the blog) so if you are interested in what it’s like to up sticks and go and live & work in another country for 6 months, head on over there.
The big news this week is that the wood for the fire (for the whole winter!) has been delivered…
I’m going to use this six months to re-think my business from the ground up. While I’m still serving Facebook Ads clients via ClicksAndLeads.com and building the odd marketing funnel for Authors, Experts & Consultants via wheelhouse.marketing, while coaching students via my Inner Circle Membership at NicolaCairncross.com, I am very keen to consolidate things.
A small but unexpected windfall has enabled me to invest in some brand new training from one of the industry leaders, that I hope will help me formulate the direction my business is going to go in, for the rest of my working life. I think better when working through a bit of a structure, it forces order on my thought processes, which being a Alchemist / Creator personality type can tend to get a bit scattered.
Meanwhile, business as usual on the blogs and podcasts!

It’s so important to be able to detach yourself from your offer. If you imagine that all your potential clients and customers are just like you, you’ll never succeed, for lots of reasons. And yet, in some ways, you are MORE likely to succeed if you are just like your customers or clients….Explore this conundrum (and get some recommendations) here
