“I kept getting placed by Mercedes in new dealerships to go out and fix things up when they were broken. I was like a turn around guy. Also, I was a really good communicator by now because I’d spoken to thousands of people, face to face.
It’s a very, very competitive and stressful industry, the high level luxury automotive, it’s a 100 year old industry, there’s no room for error. It’s always a monthly target. There’s a lot of pressure and I really thrived in that environment because I was able to get better results than the other people doing the role. That lead to promotions and income increases and accolades and awards and a good reputation in the industry.
It was very good from that point of view and the income was good, but I really did sense that, the majority of my customers, by observing them, I noticed they weren’t employees for the most part, they were business owners.
I figured that that’s probably what I should be aiming to do next”.
