One of the most brilliant things I discovered when hiring my first mentor-coach was that they didn’t have any preconceptions about me as a person.
They just thought I was going to be brilliant. They thought I was going to easily achieve the things I said I wanted to achieve, with their help, of course. And they didn’t know all of the things about me that my family and friends knew about me that made my family and friends doubt whether I could achieve what I wanted to achieve.
There’s something very refreshing about talking to someone who thinks you’re going to just do it. And who thinks you’re perfectly capable, psychologically, mentally, emotionally, and skills-wise.
So, that’s a very encouraging side of having a mentor-coach walking alongside you.
