It’s a really good idea if you’re selling something and you’ve got a customer base, to import it into some sort of mailing list. That’s where you start.
And then as you get a bit more sophisticated and you grow beyond just wanting to send one email a week perhaps, which again most companies aren’t even doing, you get to the place of list segmentation.
Now, how I do that is when people come to my website they can either opt-in for my Be Everywhere Online programme, then go and watch a video and download the blueprint or the tick list and then I follow up with a couple of emails after that.
Then I put people into what I call, a wait and nurture sequence, which is where I start educating them.
And if people don’t opt in for that, they’ve got another option which is to self select themselves from three chooser graphics.
So allow your lists to segment themselves and you’ll find writing the follow-up emails much, much easier.
