Grownups don’t like to learn. It pushes them out of their comfort zone, they get very easily frustrated, and they feel like they’re failing if they don’t get it right first time.
Well, it’s not like that for kids. They don’t realise that they’re failing, ’cause they don’t have any concept of failing. So the one thing you’ve got to do is put to one side your feelings of being a frustrated angry grownup ’cause you can’t be good at something straightaway.
You’ve just got to realise that it’s going to feel like you’re failing, but you’re not actually failing, you’re learning as you’re failing. Why you’re not good at things straightaway, it doesn’t matter ’cause by the time you’ve realised that, you’ve probably moved on and learned the thing that you were trying to learn in the first place.
So yes, it’ll be hard and some days you’ll go to bed and you’ll think, I don’t know how to put this sign-up box on my website, I’m never going to learn this. And then you wake up in morning and you come back to it and you’re refreshed, and because you’ve done the groundwork the day before, it’s easy.
