Lots of people are wondering, with the rise of social media, if they should kill their website. We’ve done some experiments on this.
We have a podcast called Own It! and we tried it with about 50 episodes where we had show notes and all sorts of things on the website. And you know, the numbers never got very huge.
We thought it wasn’t worth keeping, because it was a lot of work, and we killed it for a while.
And then we brought it back again, because we found that it did decrease our visitor numbers, not having a home for the podcast on the web. It also made some of our marketing exercises a little bit more difficult.
So I would always say, good idea to keep a website, even if it’s only a minimal one-page one.
