I had a conversation with a client the other day about her business being invisible. She seemed to have this idea in her head that all of her potential future clients knew who she was and where she was and what she could do for them.
So she wasn’t actually doing any marketing.
After our conversation, she then wrote a list of five or six things she wanted to do. Some of those things were things like tidy up the wording on her website.
I went through her list and went back to her and said, “There’s only one thing on here that is going to make you less invisible to your potential future customers. You need to do that first.”
Later in the week, she came back to me with all the things she’d done, and lo and behold it was everything BUT the one thing that would make her business less invisible to her potential future customers!
There’s some sort of fear there and I haven’t got to the bottom of it yet, but I will.
Look at your to-do list, and ask yourself…
“Will this make my business more visible to my potential future customers. Or am I just tidying up, prevaricating and doing the safe stuff?”
