Day 7 of the Internet Marketers Cruise trip and I’m at that point where the holiday no longer seems like it’s stretching off forever (boo hoo!)
Yesterday some of the boys went jetskiing and I went on my planned bus tour, while Minesh went to the Ritz with a couple of his buddies.
The tour was fun and I met some more new people, we went to the highest point on St Thomas and I had a “World Famous Banana Daquari” which was a little strong and made me remember I don’t like rum much.
Then the german lads, Jonathan the videographer and me hired the bus lady to take us to Megen’s Bay beach, which is the one you can see from the top of the mountain, for a few hours.
There we found about 40 other internet marketers standing in the sea chatting, JV’ing and just having fun and doing business in the sun.
I swam in the Caribbean for the first time and it was utter bliss. Then it was back to the ship, up to the Lido deck for a sundowner and we all compared notes on our day; who we’d met, what we’d heard and how Pete fell off his jetski and couldn’t get back on again, having to be rescued by Mike – there is video evidence too!
Evening dinner as usual, then the boys went to a magic show all except Andy, who moseyed on down to the casino again, as I went to play poker with my new poker buddies.
These include a guy who owns a farm in Kansas, a chef from New York, 2-3 other internet marketers and a guy who sells IT equipment to the army.
On the way, we stumbled into a 70’s and 80’s pop quiz and singalong, so Andy stayed for a while, got 19 out of 20 and displayed a rather fine singing voice – much to my surprise.
Then I played poker until 3am, so it was a miracle that I was awake again at 8.15, ready for the day in San Juan.
The Internet Marketers Cruise ship arrived right in the middle of the Festival of San Sebastian, so we were a bit limited in what we could do, due to concerns about the traffic situation and getting back to the ship in time.
We decided to join Minesh who had taken himself off the the Ritz again – he likes a bit of luxury, Minesh – and we found a lovely beach, a great pool, some other Internet Marketers and a nice bit of lunch, with a few awesome cocktails thrown in. I enjoyed a swim in both the sea and the pool, mohito or two, made with gin not rum – lovely!
I think I can confirm I have finally got the hang of doing, as Mickey Flanagan so eloquently puts it, “proper fuck all”.
Now it’s shower time, before going to hear our host Mike Filsaime’s seminar / speech thingy. Not really sure but its’ all good networking. I’ve nearly turned down half my cruise directory already, with people I’ve met.
We are off to the “posh” steakhouse restaurant tonight, which is right at the top of the ship. I hope the sea is calm as the higher you go, the more the ship rolls, ever so slightly but you can feel it. I woke up the other night to a bit of a roll, but I’m very lucky, I don’t get seasick.
