This was the view from my cabin window this morning as the Carnival Glory hove into St Thomas, British Virgin Islands and I’m typing this, itching to go for breakfast and get ashore.
My choices today are the booked bus tour of the island or go with the boys to jetski. Not me obviously but there must be a beach thereby.
Things I’m loving about the cruise so far:
The singing announcer on behalf of the Captain, I don’t think it’s Captain Alessandro Gallotto as this guy has SOUL!
The food is very good but the frozen margaritas are awesome!
My cabin seems huge with just me in it, the bed is comfy and my steward Kim is most efficient.
I’m making new friends, re-connecting wiht old ones like Mike Stewart and about even on the poker table apart from the small loss on the poker tournament yesterday, in which Peter Halm, Mike “Business Flipper” Warren and I played. (Mike is the USA addition to the gang and he totally gets the Brit sense of humour).
The random things you see / come across as you wander round the ship, like the Motown Singalong / Name That Tune I joined in on, on the way to the casino last night after dinner. I also loved the line dancing fitness class I watched, yes, just watched, yesterday afternoon, to the tune of Blurred Lines!
I’ve managed to stay awake for the Midnight Pizza and Profits session just once so far but met some great people there – must try harder tonight.
Till the next time!
Nicola
Well git yr cowboy boots on and join in pardner!
Line dancing to Blurred Lines? Sounds like heaven to me, Doll. The rest of it sounds absolutely grim. Enjoy, right up your rue, I know. x
Hahaha – yes, it was brilliant, the Cruise Director ran that, he also sang the ship announcements and hosted Motown pop quizzes where everyone sang along at top voice – great fun!
