So we hear a lot of talk about marketing to your ideal client. How do you know what your ideal client is in the early days when you don’t actually have any clients or customers?
Well, you can make an educated guess.
A lot of us are supplying goods and services, or products and services to people who have experienced the same problems as we have. So our ideal clients or customers are very like us.
After you’ve been in business for a little while however you can look at your ideal customers and clients and you can work out who you’d like to market to in future.
Now that could be a combination of the people you like working with most, the people who buy most easily, the people who get
For example, my most ideal client is a female freelancer between 45 and 50. That’s very specific, isn’t it? And they’re all experts in their field.
In the meantime, make an educated guess. Start aiming your marketing somewhere, and then see how it converts.
