22 years ago at this time on this day, I was still reeling from the joy of having safely produced Phoebe Leah Amelia Cairncross Soremekun into the world, underwater, at Hammersmith Hospital.
There was a great view of Wormwood Scrubs from my room, as I recall.
The joy was doubled because we’d actually been told it was very unlikely we’d have kids without some kind of medical intervention and, in fact, the Tuesday after the weekend when I found out I was expecting her, was my first IVF appointment.
When born, she didn’t cry, just lay there looking at us, before going to sleep for the next 12 hours or so. “Just like her father” I thought.
Phoebe is rapidly growing into an epic young woman, as this picture (one of my favourites) by Amy Linsdell shows. Luckily for her, she looks like her dad!
Not very academic at school, I was a teensy bit concerned about what she was going to do in life, but after a couple of years learning the value of minimum wage hard work and the fun of teamwork in our local gastro pub, she’s now discovered a love for film-making and editing and is now starting to create branding & marketing videos for businesses, check out some of her work on YouTube here (and you can get in touch via her website at PhoebeSoremekun.com).
Oh, yes, the internet had just got going in 1995 and as both my babies were born, I secured both their names as URL’s – a great investment by moi.
What’s all this to do with you? Well, if you are a subscriber to my mailing list, I’ve just released 22 gifts to celebrate her birthday. Not on the list? Just opt in for my free book “How To Market ANY Business Online” or download the free App today.
Right, now to get ready for the first of her THREE big nights out!
