Over the last few months over 600 people have filled in a short digital marketing survey revealing their biggest challenges with either getting started with internet marketing or with marketing their businesses online. In this series of blog posts, I’ll be answering the two survey questions “What’s your biggest challenge with marketing online?” and “If I could wave a realistic magic wand, what do you think the solution to that challenge might be?”. As you’ll see, some answers were terse to the point of vanishing! Others, however, gave me more to work with!
In my survey, one of the first respondents said their biggest digital marketing challenge was:

My Immediate Advice (based on the above)
You don’t need to worry about having confidence, that doesn’t just arrive as if by magic, it only comes with time. In the meantime, you just need to try to act as if you already have confidence in yourself.
I’m not talking about faking it, but remember, if someone asks you a question you don’t know the answer to, the best answer is “I don’t know that off the top of my head, but I can find out for you!”.
It’s great that you are getting help with the tech, but really it’s better if you NEVER learn to do that tech bits as they can always be outsourced and often for as little as $5-10 per hour.
You need to concentrate on keeping the bigger picture in mind, focusing on doing the ONE THING every day that will make a difference and drive your business forwards and then making sure that ONE THING gets done.
With regards to selling online, it’s better for your confidence (and your customer!) if you can think in terms of serving the greatest numbers of people, rather than selling. The word selling conjures up negative connotations in both the buyer and the seller’s minds. You are not selling, you are solving a problem, with an appropriate solution.
