When I login to create the next post in Michael Dunlop’s 30 Day “Create A Blog” plan sometimes I get a really nice surprise. Nice because some days are easier FOR ME than others. You will find different days easier than me, I’m sure.
What’s been a challenge today? The realisation that my blog feed isn’t working properly. I’ve had issues with this Feedburner feed right from the word go, but I thought I’d fixed it. Here’s the URL http://feeds.feedburner.com/nicolacairncross2010 and if you click on it, it not only takes ages to load but it SHOULD show a list of the most recent blogs with extracts from each but it has stopped working. Last post was the one about the Six Figure Mentors. How did I know? Because I noticed on my FeedReader that none of these new blog posts are listed.
Do we think it’s because I’m doing a series of blog posts with very similar titles so that it could be blogging spam? I will do a test of another post after this one and see what happens.
Back to the task in hand………..
Day 21 is all about making a List Blog Post.
The last time I did this I created my “Top 10 Business Books Of All Time” and it ended up on the Stephen Fry Daily which is compiled from the tweets of some of the people he is following. I got over 200 extra visitors in one day!
(That reminds me, I haven’t created a Twitter account for DigitalMarketingBrighton.com yet – well, MD hasn’t told us to, and I’m sticking to the terms of the duel, even if poor old Steve has fallen by the wayside due to sickness and an influx of new clients).
What kind of list post could I create for the DigitalMarketingBrighton.com blog? Here’s some ideas:
- Top 10 Most Inspirational Digital Marketing Gurus
- Top 10 Things You Need To Know About Digital Marketing
- Top 10 Things You Need To Do, To Use Digital Marketing Effectively In Your Business
- Top 10 Digital Marketing Tools Available Online
- Top 5 Misconceptions About Digital Marketing
There you go, that’s just off the top of my head. As you can see, I like the number 10 – it has a nice round feel to it. I always try and push for 10 things, allowing it to fall back to 5, 7 or 9 if I run out of ideas. Never even numbers apart from 10, funny enough.
There’s the old OCD kicking in again LOL.
Update: I went with My Top 10 Digital Marketing Gurus in the end – you can see the blog post here >>>
