The “revelation” made by Tyrone Shum that he’s not making the six-figure money he said / implied he was, from internet marketing, hasn’t caused as big a stir as you would have thought, Tyrone being one of the fast rising names in the IM world.
Below you will find a video by Yaro Starak giving his take on the situation….which is interesting in itself, to see Yaro’s reaction to the news.
Now, I’m not saying that Tyrone has been doing this, and you may call me naiive – as one of my IM buddies did the other day – but I’m always really shocked and saddened when people nakedly display that they are willing to make money by whatever means possible – with no thought for the ethics of the method. Sometimes you come across this stuff at Multi-Level Marketing and Internet Marketing seminars and that is one reason I have stopped speaking at them, I just dont’ want to be associated with what are coming to be known as the “snakeoil salesmen”.
The other reason that I’m not speaking so much is that I don’t “sell from the stage” as well as some of the others, because I won’t lie, so I don’t get asked back a lot of the time! The promoters take a good chunk of what the speakers sell, if you didn’t know this already. It’svery big business with high risks and high upfront costs and which promoters can afford to put a speaker on who makes less money for them than the others?
I don’t have a problem with that per se, but I do have an issue with promoters continuing to put on stage those sharks whose products don’t work and also those speakers who don’t honour their satisfaction / money back guarantees. However, there is equally an issue with seminar attendees who buy something then ask for a refund when they haven’t actually taken any action.
Sure, I’ve made mistakes (in retrospect) in things I’ve recommended but truth be told, I’ve always either been invested in those things myself, or have 100% wholeheartedly believed in the people I’m recommending and have first hand known people who have made money from those methods taught. In fact, I’ve started actually saying if I have seen / used the products I’m letting my list know about now and have been very careful about the products I’m recommending on this blog, so that I can stand by them 100%.
Here Yaro Starak gives his take on the whole internet income & proof topic and gives some great tips on how to make sure you only buy great stuff, talks about why so many people buy products and then don’t use them and some other cool topics besides.
