Just a quickie today to let you know what’s been happening this last couple of weeks while you’ve been enjoying your hols and the Olympics!
I feel like I’ve been having some downtime too, although I’m not a sports fan at all, but I’ve enjoyed plenty of hanging out in the garden in the sunshine.
When I look at what I’ve achieved in the last two weeks, I surprised myself. Focused action with plenty of getting away from the computer, I guess!
Something for everyone here and it’s a Bank Holiday so extra dog walks to fill!
Getting Ready For The “New School Term”
I’ve had a self-imposed ban on “nothing new” where I only allow myself to work on something new if it directly enhances one of my 3 x existing offers.
There’s also been something Yaro Starak said recently about “re-purposing great content” ringing in my ears so I went on an audit of my under utilised products or marketing assets. I found quite a few languishing unloved, so I’m looking at how to work those into my marketing / product funnel to deliver most value in the most coherent way.
I’ve also been doing a bit of business restructuring after talking to my lovely future brother-in-law (who is a great pro-active accountant!) and in the interests of “one website, one focus” I’ve killed a couple of sites, redirected the traffic to the other two, and I’ve added wheelhouse.marketing to my website portfolio. It’s always been there but I didn’t shout about it, now it makes sense as it’s got a clear direction.
This one’s all about Sales Funnel & Conversion Optimisation, something I’ve always helped my peers with, on the quiet, but which I’m being called on for, more and more often. I like to work on other people’s projects sometimes, it’s fast, furious, highly profitable and has a limited time span.
So my email signature (see below) now highlights the 3 x clear ways I can help you; traffic via ClicksAndLeads.com, mentoring via NicolaCairncross.com and Sales Funnel & Conversion Optimisation via wheelhouse.marketing.
I needed a free giveaway for wheelhouse.marketing so I re-wrote my book “How To Market ANY Business Online” to bring it bang up to date for 2016 / 2017 and you can get a free copy here. It’s £13.75 on Amazon (£5.10 on Kindle) so you are getting a good deal there!
I also needed a tempting low cost offer on the back of that, to go towards the cost of generating new leads, and I’ve been getting a lot of “my website’s not working!” emails recently, so I brought back the “Website Marketing MOT”. This is a popular service I ran as a lead generator back in 2011 which most business owners found very valuable. Those that were brave enough to ask, that it!
If you feel like your “website’s not working” you can watch these 4 free videos, in which I look at 4 x volunteer websites and cover the first 3 points of my 10-point checklist. I know they will help you figure out where you are going wrong!
My NicolaCairncross.com site also needed a new lead generator, although I already have the Money Gym book, that tends to attract people just starting out on their online wealth creation journey. I needed something to attract solopreneurs and business owners, who have tried all the online tactics and while, successful, want to really ramp it up a notch and realise that they need to go a bit deeper, working on themselves more. It’s all about what’s going on between your ears…
This led to a one week binge of re-writing “The Science Of Getting Rich” for the online community, especially the non-religious faction of that community. You can read more about why I did that here
Or watch the video version here on YouTube or on Facebook
Get your free copy of “The Science Of Getting Rich Online” here – we are nearly at my 100 free download limit – and join the private Facebook Discussion group to talk through your learnings and actions arising.
I am also considering a temporary relocation to warmer climes, it’s a good time to try it out again, before Phoebe and Nelson start having babies (no pressure, loves!) as I want to be firmly in the UK for that.
Sarah and I are looking at house-sits in France and there’s the sniff of the chance of six months in Stoupa, my favourite holiday paradise, as my cleaning angel Yvonne co-owns a house there, that will sit empty all winter otherwise. The picture above would be the view from my new balcony office!
That’s my roundup, what have you been up to, the last two weeks?
On Facebook Live
I’ve given up on daily FB Live videos, I just don’t have enough to say, but I did share my thoughts in this video about a little known success secret I came across in “The Science Of Getting Rich Online”, that of being bigger than your space in the Universe. Watch that here – I think the info is pure gold.

On The Podcast
I’ve enjoyed 3 x guest co-hosts while Judith’s been taking some time off. Most recently, a regular on our TV’s, Sarah Newton joined me. Sarah is a well known teenologist, author, speaker and dragon-slayer. She tells me how her career progressed from working for Disney to being a police officer with young offenders and how she started her own business sixteen years ago so she could continue that work in her own way. Listen or download here.
Previously I was joined by Irene Conlin of Building Top Companies who, like Sarah brought a personal “Client Challenge of the Week” which was about her own perpetual desire as her business grows for even more freedom. (Irene has subsequently realised that she has all the freedom she needs while restructuring and repositioning her membership slightly). Listen or download here.
Jacqueline Rogers of The Athena Network was my first stand-in guest during the five weeks of Judith’s August holiday. We discussed, among many other things, Do you do what you should or follow your passion in business? And can we combine the two for love and profit? Listen or download here.
Now, I’m off to cook a prawn risotto as Sarah’s coming over for the double bumper episode of Casualty (I’m not a big fan of any sport when they bump off my favourite mindless TV!) and the new episode of X-Factor, yes it’s back and I’m putting a bet on the winners this time, for sure!
Have a wonderful Bank Holiday!
