I decided I wanted to improve on my conversion performance of two years ago, so I kept visualising the result I wanted (and I even got the exact number of application forms printed). And so it came to pass…

Well, welcome back to the Vzine. It’s Nicola here, and I’m back in my brother’s flat in Sydney. And you can see I’m a little bit hot actually. It’s quite warm here and I’m back from the Gold Coast and it was even warmer there. I spent four days in a fabulous hotel, largely being thunder and lightening, not so much sunshine. It was a very humid four days.
But, “How did the conference go”, I hear you ask. Well, it was absolutely brilliant. We had four amazing days with some nearly 200 fantastic Amazon entrepreneurs. There was a cocktail party on the first night, then there was one full day of conference and lots of different speakers including Neil Asher who was putting the conference on, and then I was on first thing on Sunday morning.
So I largely spent Saturday tinkering with my presentation. It was a good solid presentation two years ago, but I want to bring it right bang up to date, and also to put in some elements that had come to me when I was talking to people on the Friday night.
So, I did that and then I got on stage at 9:15 on Sunday morning. People were already in the room because Neil had done a presentation at 8 o’clock which is incredibly early when you think about it, on a Sunday. And as I moved through the presentation I felt so confident and happy to be up there, because I’d met a lot of the audience already, it was really, really nice and friendly, everybody was laughing at my jokes, particularly the ones at Neil’s expense.
And at the end of it when I said to people, “If you’d like my help, just put your hand up and we’ll make sure you get a form to come and join Clicks and Leads Academy, and work through the ‘Be Everywhere Online’ programme”, everybody put their hands up, it was absolutely astonishing.
So my goal was to do better than two years ago, when 25% of the room signed up to Clicks and Leads Academy, and this year 30% of the room, and the room was twice as big. It was just unreal.
I’m on a high, I’m on a massive high, I cannot believe it.
Lots and lots of lovely new clients, all of whom are serious business people, all of whom I’m convinced I can help to take their Amazon businesses to the next level, so I’m really excited about that. But let’s get on with the show shall we, cause I’ve got quite a lot to tell you.
Okay, so, what did I share on stage with the Amazon entrepreneurs?
Well, we were driving home to them that you can’t just rely on Amazon itself to bring you traffic. You have to find some external method of bringing traffic to your store once it’s set up. And even better than that, if you can build a landing page to send that traffic to first, then you’ve not only got a reason for people to– and you can actually give people discount vouchers as a reason to give you their name and email before they even get to your store.
And the other important thing about having a landing page is that you can actually put pixels on it. You can put Google remarketing pixels, Facebook remarketing pixels, and Twitter remarketing pixels on that page.
So you can then actually revisit people after they’ve either bought or not bought, and you can actually offer them other things.
So if your Amazon store is on a theme, and say it’s, a digital nomads travel accessories, you can offer one thing and then if they don’t buy that thing you can offer another thing. And the reason I was there was to teach them how to build a powerful personal or business brand.
And the reason that that is important for Amazon entrepreneurs is because they’re often reselling things that other people are selling too, and they may well have rebranded them to their own sort of livery, as it were, and their own logo, but nobody buys a logo where they don’t know what the logo means.
A logo and a brand have to stand for something. And the kind of things that I teach for Amazon entrepreneurs is an eye-opening experience for them, because they haven’t really though about it before, is how to get their customers to know, like and trust them over another Amazon entrepreneur who may be selling exactly the same thing but with a different logo on it.
Now, the real hit of my presentation, which nobody was expecting, and I certainly wasn’t expecting it to be such a big hit, was when I showed them how with a simple YouTube video and a three or four word phrase, you can get your Amazon store to the top of Google search results, and it absolutely blew them away. Blew them away, they didn’t really– they were all sort of sitting there watching me, then suddenly it started to– I could see the looks on their faces, it was fantastic.
It started to dawn on them that even if they’ve got a really well established brand on Amazon that they’re competing against, and perhaps they’re number two, three or four in the listing, here’s how they can get to number one of Google with a listing, using a simple little video.
And we talked about the different kinds of videos they could use, and the most simple of all is the unboxing video. And I showed them proof that with a little video, an unboxing video, my daughter Phoebe managed to get to page one of Google, and stay there a year later. She’s still there for this face mask brand that she did a simple unboxing video of, and a demonstration video for.
So, that’s what I showed them, that’s what blew them away, and I’m sure that’s why so many of them signed up to the Be Everywhere Online programme, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with them all over the next year. Exciting!
So, what’s on the vlog or the podcast this week?
Well, on the podcast, the Own It! podcast, episode 218, we were talking about What’s Blocking Your Abundance? And we went through, Judith managed to come up with a list of 43 ways you can block your own abundance in the middle of the night actually, and she wrote a blog post on it, and she asked me for my top three, and she brought her top three to the podcast as well.
I think you’ll find them quite interesting, I think you’ll find them not what you expect– noisy old aeroplane going past. And I think you’ll really enjoy it.
So, if you’re finding money a bit of a struggle, if you’re finding creating wealth for yourself difficult, as I have on many occasions, come on over and listen to ownitthepodcast.com/218 I think you’ll get a lot out of it, and we’ve had some very lively discussions in the private Facebook group for the podcast about that topic.
So come and have a look, see what you think! Speak to you soon, bye.
