From clueless mother-of-two in her early 40's to successful digital marketing author, speaker, coach & mentor who has fulfilled her dream of living in Greece most of the time.
Nicola buys a second-hand laptop that connects to the World Wide Web. Intrigued, she buys a book and teaches herself HTML, making her first website. She buys the domain name NicolaCairncross.com and also their name URL’s for her husband and children.
Starts work for The Space Organisation and creates a simple website for TheMusicRoom.co.uk an empty room in Mayfair above Greys Antiques and starts email marketing all previous corporate users of the room. Goes from zero to £160,000 turnover in six months for her inspirational boss, Bennie Grey. Nicola is on commission based on profit share and in a bid to do even better, she reads “7 Habits Of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. It’s the start of her personal development journey.
Nicola signs up to study under Thomas Leonard, founder of coaching and Coach University after having hired her own career coach. Launches her first coaching business with a 5-page website and a rapidly growing email list. She archives each text newsletter as a new page on her site and Google rewards her for this early form of blogging with lots of traffic.
Nicola’s coaching business evolves into TheMoneyGym.com as she specialises in her own interest; why some people struggle with money and what we can learn from those who do not.
Nicola buys a 12-bedroom hotel The Acacia, in Worthing, “no money down” and refurbishes it in under 10 weeks to open that season. The hotel is run entirely along “E-Myth Revisited” principles and hosts workshops for The Money Gym.
Nicola sells the hotel and moves to Shoreham Beach, starting a ‘done for you’ internet marketing agency alongside The Money Gym, working with Steve Watson, talented chef and now web-designer. Steve had previously been the manager of the hotel and Nicola’s favourite restaurant “The Pepper Tree”. Judith Morgan joins the pair in The Money Gym and they host several sold-out events in London, such as “The Money Gym Internet Day” with Brett McFall and “The Money Gym Property Day” with Martyn Lewis from popular UK TV show “Homes Under The Hammer”.
The Money Gym closes due to the global financial meltdown and Nicola specialises 100% in internet marketing mentoring, working with clients 1:2:1. She becomes the Website & Online Marketing Advisor to the Worthing & Adur Chamber of Commerce. Steve starts his successful website design agency and they continue to collaborate.
Nicola launches ROARLocal.com for Neil Asher, a digital marketing agency working with corporate clients. ROARlocal.com achieves six-figure turnover within 3 months, delivering digital marketing services to a private bank, a property multi-millionaire and a well-known stock trading education company, among others. She recruited, trained and managed a top global team, 100% outsourced and pioneered her “be everywhere online” system.
Steve dies suddenly of a heart attack and Nicola goes to live in Greece and work out what’s next, for her.
Nicola takes her daughter Phoebe to meet long-time hero Gary Vaynerchuk at the now legendary MeetUp in Soho, London.
Nicola launches ClicksAndLeadsAcademy, a new internet marketing mentoring membership accessed by the new App, which contains all her video training programmes, including “The Money Gym”, “Ultimate Facebook Ads Bootcamp” and “Be Everywhere Online”. She’s invited to go to speak for Neil Asher and his “Aussie Amazon Entrepreneurs” in Australia where she’s also re-united with Matt Duggan.
Nicola is the keynote speaker for Athena Network’s “Inspire” Annual Conference in London.
Nicola is one of the keynote speakers for The International Coach Federation, at their Annual Conference in London.
Nicola returns to Australia and shares “Be Everywhere Online” again with Neil’s audience, again they love it, this time 30% of a room of 230 people sign up. Nicola also wins a web design makeover with Studio1Design at SuperFastBusiness Live and the page you are reading is a direct result of that.
Nicola presents “Be Everywhere Online” at a high-level personal development Mastermind in Las Vegas, meets hypnotherapist to the stars & royalty Marisa Peer and personal development guru and Presidential Candidate, Marianne Williamson.
Nicola travels the world to speak and continues to run her consultancy business and mentor business clients from her house in Stoupa, Greece.
Nicola CairncrossFounder, BeEverywhere Online
I’m 57 now and divide my time between Shoreham-By-Sea, Brighton and Stoupa in The Mani, Greece.
I was “bright but could do better” at school and my early working life was a disaster as, while I knew I was an entrepreneur, I knew nothing about building a successful business.
Finally, in 1995, I bought my first domain name and started online with nothing at 38 years old. In the last 10 years, I created four successful businesses online and now I’m a successful digital marketing consultant, a 5 x business author, podcaster and speaker.
I’ve been through a few major life changes but the one thing that has stayed constant is my ability to run my business digitally, working with amazing clients, doing something I absolutely love!
Six months ago, I fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to live at least half the year in Greece (for a few years at least until my grand-kids come along!)
On the blog here, in my vzine and podcast, I share all my knowledge and expertise on how to build a compelling brand online, how to leverage your knowledge and skills into digital content, how to “Be Everywhere Online” in fact.
