Word has got out about my “Be Everywhere Online” training – it involves video marketing and creating awesome content via video.
Inside the latest 21 Day”Be Everywhere Online” Challenge some of the participants are stamping their feet a bit and complaining that they don’t like doing video, they are not comfortable talking to the camera, they have a face for radio and yes, I agree, it’s a challenge in many different ways.
The way you come face to face with your self-esteem (or lack of it) when looking at a video of yourself is really tough for some people. I absolutely hate the way I look on video (funny enough I’m not so bothered about it in “real life”). But if I am going to reach my potential future customers in the places they play, with a message they are likely to consume, video marketing it must be.
There are alternatives to talking straight to camera (that’s the good news) but you just can’t avoid content creation using video and video marketing nowadays. If you are not using video marketing, you are pretty much invisible online.
Here are 2-3 good reasons it’s a “content creation using VIDEO challenge”, whether that’s you talking to the camera, or doing Facebook Lives or using Lumen5…
3 Reasons Why You Must Embrace Video Marketing
- Because that is what gets the most views, the most traction, the most engagement. Not only are the major platforms pushing video hard so they share videos further, only a tiny number of people comparatively now want to read, a few more want to listen, but many, many people just want to watch, even if silently with captions.
- It’s also REALLY EFFICIENT when creating your content as you are doing the most difficult bit first, then spinning off the audio, transcriptions etc from that. There’s so much leverage from one short piece of content.
- By looking down the camera lens, you are effectively looking right into someone’s eyes. It enables your future customer or client to get to “know, like and trust” you much, much faster, especially if you are 100% authentic. Even if you have some background noise, don’t let it stop you recording, just roll with it and laugh about it.
People who want perfection are never going to be your customers anyway….. you being here is proof of that. You like it that I’m not perfect and still make a good living, living where I love (even if that means cicadas, buzzy beetles, noisy neighbours, greek olive cutters, noisy vans with loudspeakers attached notwithstanding) because that gives you permission to be who you are, be imperfect too and also make a good living.
Bonus Reason: By using video, you are able to create an audience out of people who watch your video through to more than 25% or even 50%.
This gives you a pool of people who are interested in your product or service, which is invaluable if you don’t have a mailing list yet (and even if you do).
You can now make various offers to those people and they will be much more receptive to your offers because they feel like they know you. They will convert to new leads and sales much more easily and for a smaller marketing spend.
You can’t get much more powerful a reason to use video marketing for your business, than that. You need to get over yourself and get started! I can help, take a look at my “Be Everywhere Online” training to get you started.
