    Hi Nicola
Shame the forum didn’t work out… BUT, the site looks really neat since the upgrade. I like it a lot!!
I’ll keep an eye on this page instead of the forum.

Thanks Shaun! How’s things with you and your sites?

      Hi Nicola.
Things are going well, thanks. My sites are now more like Jodie’s sites. She has been growing massively on the internet front, building affiliate sites and getting her rankings to top slots on Google. I have been taking more of a support, techy role. I really enjoy the techy stuff – builfing blogs/websites, adding membership capability, that type of thing. I think Steve Watson and I are probably quite similar. My WD profile (did this earlier this week) is a Mechanic. Secondary Creator. Does that make sense? Mechanic/Creator? :)
Will be speaking to Judith about that soon.
Otherwise, looking forward to helping others achieve with their websites. I think I should have a website set up to offer these services pronto.

Yes, that would be a good idea Shaun – Steve is swamped with client enquiries so there is a market out there! Looking forward to talking to Jodie more very soon!

Hmm what to ask. Kept on seeing your name pop up in loads of different blogs and Websites Nicola so i had to pay you a visit and leave a comment!

I have created custom Twitter Backgrounds and a Custom Facebook display picture promoting my blog as well as skype and email with the header “Who Can I Help today” with a picture of me looking thoughtful!

I think that Self Branding and Offering to Help is vitally important when developing relationships! so my question is how much importance do you put on self branding? and do you have any tips on branding You.Inc!

Great blog Nicola! Til Next Time

Hi Phillip – thanks for the comment! Nice pic too….

I think it depends on your Wealth Dynamics profile actually, as some people are more comfortable branding themselves than others and when I found out I was a creator/star in WD terms, allowing my branding to get stronger was easier for me.

However, you have to think exit strategies when setting up a business, and one branded around you will not be easy to sell or get a major investor in as of course, it’s all about you!

But I do believe that a business with no people visible is a soul-less looking thing indeed especially online. So if you are a business online, you MUST have an “About Us” page and actually I like to see a pic of the founders on the front page somewhere even if it’s in the sidebar. Visitors immediately relate to the people they see and it’s a warmer feeling.

So if you are an outgoing type, perhaps think about branding you, but then have your companies standing seperate under your “umbrella” brand if you like.

So for example, I brand me as a speaker, writer, consultant, but The Money Gym has a standalone brand and could be sold or take investors in to run it, as it’s not so dependent on me or Judith as figureheads anymore.

    Does that make sense?

I love your Internet Marketing 101 brand by the way, it gives you a sense that it’s step by step, simple, and do-able. But you have your picture on the header graphic and it’s quirky enough that I know immediately it’s a real person.

You build trust and relief from overwhelm immediately.

    How’s it working for you?

Bit of feedback? I wanted to go look at your Facebook branding (crucial and becoming more so) but had to hunt for the links. You might want to move your “follow our updates” up to the top of the sidebar, under your giveaway, and make it brighter – it nearly gets lost being grey and quite far down.

    Cheers
    Nicola

Just created a word press page and have slowly been trawling through the immense amount of info on the web re: Affiliate Marketing. I cannot (unfortunately) sign up to you Lunar membership for the mentoring programme – though I am sold on it. So the comment question – to cut to the chase – is: Starting from scratch – no dosh to spare, having a good outline of what I can do and I have to say I am multi talented and creative and thats really the line I wish to work in. Lots of ideas – but how to take them forward? I love the idea of being mentored but am a few steps away from that at present – what would you suggest? Thanks

    • http://nicolacairncross.com NicolaCairncross

Dear Jacqueline, thanks for your interest and comments.

If I were in your position, I would start adding something to my blog every day – something you find interesting, or useful, or both. I would add part of the article you find interesting, credit the author and make a link back to their site. That will get the search engines excited about your site. EVERY DAY!! I would go and comment on the big / high pagerank blogs with useful comments, and use the URL box to link back to your site (notice you didn’t do that here – you should!) Send me your URL and I’ll edit it in for you. I would then write a weekly roundup on your blog of what you have learned that week and what you have done that week to move your business forwards. I would subscribe to the blogs of Michael Dunlop http://IncomeDiary.com, Yaro Starak http://entrepreneurs-journey.com, Steve Watson http://SteveWatsonOnline.com (wordpress expert and always great tips) video blogging expert Gideon Shalwick at http://GideonShalwick.com and motivation coach http://RockYourDay.com – those few will see you right. Limit the number of newsletters / blogs you subscribe to, to just 10 tops though.

Writing your weekly report will keep you accountable AND doing something, and create unique content on your blog (search engines love that). You will also start to build a following, so make sure you have some sort of mailing list signup box on your blog (aWeber is best and only $19 a month).

Add banners for the products and services you are personally using and finding good to your sidebar, then concentrate on blogging to build your traffic. Get into video at YouTube or online radio at BlogTalkRadio and start interviewing experts on skype, recording the interviews with the Pamela recording service. Put those interviews together into an audio, get it transcribed by a cheap transcriptionist service (80p a minute) and turn it into your first ebook.

Sell that from your site and when you are earning more than £97 a month from your affiiate commissions and sales, come and join Lunar and let me mentor you further!

Or you could see if you qualify for our Scholarship Programme here http://nicolacairncross.com/scholarship-student-offer/

      Cheers, Nicola

Hi Nicola, I’m new to the world of being self-employed I’ve hit 6 months now and need to boost my monetization asap.

I wondered if you had any glaring observations to make about my website bestself.co.uk.

I really like your site and think what you’re doing is great.
